Well, if you all have been keeping tabs with the weather, you would know that there was some serious storms in my area. My area lost light for about 7 days, and last night we had finally got it back after it took the entire neighborhood calling the Electric Co. at least 5 times each every day and a phone call to a live radio about our situation.
The situation was this:
We lost power, like a good part of the island, because of Earl. For about 3 days, the store near us had no power. Then at day 4 they did. But my neighborhood still didn't. We called, and they stated that we had power in our area when it was just the stores near by. We told them about the health situations with some of the people, and they ignored us. It got to the point where they were not even accepting calls from anybody. We had to call other electric co.'s across the island (that would take them over 5 hours to get to our place). Then I called the Radio station (I will leave anonymous) and told them the situation.
The next day around 7 at night we got power. I am happy to have light in the house after a week of no power and no hot water... I got sick because of the lack of hot water for about two days. Had a high fever and bad headaches.
Puerto Rico is getting ready for the next storm Gaston... I just hope it acts like Fiona and misses us.
